Wow, a lot has happened in the past couple weeks!
First, we’ve been staffing up and now have people in place to run the gaming track, vendors’ room, work with me on publicity, and perform other key functions. We’ll start posting core team profiles soon.
Second, we’ve revealed BoroughCon’s first two announced sponsors, FUNimation and Crunchyroll. Considering that our CEO and CFO both come out of anime fandom, it’s hardly unexpected that this is where BoroughCon’s first maker support would emerge, but we couldn’t be happier to have these two great companies backing our play!
Again, these are announced sponsors. We’re tying up other deals right now, and have finalized some we can’t talk about yet. Stay tuned.
Yeah, yeah, we know: “So what? It’s celebrity guests that matter and you haven’t announced any yet!” We couldn’t agree more but consider this: Would these companies be putting their reputations on the line for us if they didn’t have every confidence — supported by evidence — that we’d come through on this front? We do have some people you’d want to meet committed to appearing at BoroughCon, but we want to make a few big announcements rather than dozens of smaller ones. So when we have a critical mass, we won’t be shy about letting you know.
So a lot’s happened since our last con update. The pace is just going to pick up from here. Hope you enjoy the ride!
